‘Met Rickie Lee Jones for the 2nd time today. She called me Polly but that’s okay’. Well, it rhymes:) ‘You Can Call Me Al’ by Paul Simon came about because a guy misheard Paul and his wife Edie as ‘Al and Betty’.
How nervous was I when I met you Ha!

What’s funny is when I met you at your London gig in 2006 I also wanted to convey what an inspiration you have been to me and to make you appreciate how much joy your music has given. I hope you got that anyway!

I wanted to add my two cents. I’ve been buying albums of yours in a similar fashion. Inspiration is always to be found.
I miss the old journal where you could respond to comments! Those were the days.

Holly if you are still taking suggestions for the covers record I’d love to hear you interpret some Kate Bush – how about The Man With The Child In His Eyes or This Woman’s Work?

Holly,
John Hsu here (remember recording your early compositions “Labor of Love” and “Waiting for You” together back in the Berklee days?).
I still have a video tape of you doing “Skeletons” … no, “Company” … no, “Skeletons” … It’s great that you maintained your love for Rickie all these years and even cooler that you got to met her TWICE!
She’ll always be one of my all time faves, but I have to confess that I’ve been playing your stuff way more than hers the last 10 years or so. Back in the Berklee days I always thought you had the stuff to be a great performer … but my God, who could have predicted that you’d not only turn out to be a killer songwriter but also a great all around ARTIST – it’s so rare that a musician can keep that unique spark alive and thriving after years and years in the business.
So keep it up, Holly, and thanks for all the gorgeous music. You’re still the greatest talent I’ve ever come across after 10+ years in the recording studio.
